Best areas to fish with a small boat in south jersey

If you have a small motor boat under 19' foot in length than you want to hit several hot fishing spots in south jersey.

Some of the best fishing include:

1. Just south of Sea Isle City in the ICWW

2. Near Franks boats in Strathmere

3. Paddy's hole in Avalon

4. Near Harrah's just beyond Old Brigantine Bridge

5. Cape May Inlet on a calm morning

good luck all!

Fall fishing in Corson's Inlet

Fishing in Corson's Inlet in the late summer early fall includes some of the most enjoyable fishing every year. You can expect to catch some flounder, sea bass, striper, weakies, bluefish, and the ever annoying sand shark. Bait fish too are jumping! Many anglers try their best to illegally harvest their winter and spring stock of clams for stripers and net as many mullet as their freezers can hold.

When you fish Corson's Inlet, be prepared to be amongst many anglers on a good weather weekend day! If its a nice day, expect many lines in the water. If you want to be successful though, go fishing in the early morning hours, boaters and waverunners ruin most of the good fishing.

Striper Fishing in the Fall in South Jersey

Now is the time when the Stripers run.....

Some of the best spots for Striper fishing include Brigantine, Strathmere, Ocean City beach and fishing pier, and Cape May Point, NJ.

The bait of choice for most stripers is clam or pink fin S lures. When fishing for stripers, fish the edges of the waterway because most like to sneak attack bait fish swimming helplessly by. If looking for smaller stripers than fish the shallower waters near the growth in the back bays...stripers love to feed there.

Good luck all!

Best baits for Flounder in South Jersey

Choosing the baits for catching flounder can be tricky!

In South Jersey, its always best to present what the flounder are eating...Mostly it will be grass shrimp or small bait fish. Flounder are predators for these smaller animals. My top 5 baits for flounder fishing are:

1. Gulp Penny shrimp

2. Live shiners

3. Minnows

4. Teaser 24" down then Shiner or Minnow or Gulp Shrimp

5. Long strip of Squid

Remember....always try to bring with you a good assortment of these baits..fish are not always predictable..so what worked yesterday may not work today...

Good luck fishing!

Great Kayaking spot near Frank's Boats in Strathmere

Hello everyone....

Strathmere municipal boat ramp is free and its a great place to Kayak fish. Check out the tides and make sure you drift towards your car. The deepest spot in the drift is between the bridge and the municipal ramp. Your best chance of catching fish will be in the early days of June using Flunder rigs with gulp shrimp bait, shiners, or minnows. The best fishing occurs in the early morning hours. If you run out of bait or get tired of fishing, bring your bathing suit and catch some sun on the shores of Strathmere beach only a few hundred yards from where your fishing. Just remember, a bad day fishing always beats a day at the office.....cheers!
